About Thomas A. Brault, President
Thomas A. Brault, Tom, is President of Woodside Builders and Woodside Development. Tom formed Woodside in 2000 and has been operating successfully for over 15 years. He and his wife Bethann have four young children, and live in a home he constructed in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
Tom is a fourth generation native to Montgomery County, Maryland with over 30 years of local home building and construction experience. Tom commenced his single-family home construction experience in high school building multi-million dollar ocean front houses in Bethany Beach, Delaware for Hugh H. Hickman and Son's during summer break. He continued building houses in the summer through college. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Clemson University in December 1989.
After college, he went to work for Glen Construction and help deliver several noteworthy projects including City Place Mall in Silver Spring, Maryland. After the grand opening, he created Bethany Design Build and built several homes in Bethany and at the Salt Pond Golf and Resort Club also in Bethany.
Thereafter, he worked for Lerner Enterprises on some of the region's elite projects from Dulles Town Center, White Flint Mall renovations, and entire residential subdivisions. He was then was hired by Roger Staubach's real estate firm and built more large-scale commercial projects while obtaining a Master's of Science in Real Estate from John's Hopkins University at night. Upon completion of his master's degree in 2000, he formed Woodside and has been operating it ever since.
Of unique interest, his grandfather Albert Ernest Brault was the WWII civil defense leader in Bethesda and noted in local history books, his great Uncle Adler Brault co-founded the Dulles Toll Road, and his father has been involved in state politics and a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association for over 50 years.
